The Contractor’s Licensing Board and the Contractors Education Trust Fund (CETF) have donated $300,000 to the Louisiana Tech University College of Engineering and Science.
The State Licensing Board for Contractors for Construction Engineering Technology Programs donated $280,511.46 in voluntary funds to Louisiana Tech’s Construction Engineering Technology program. The CETF made a $19,488.54 donation.
“These donations help us fund equipment and networking opportunities that prepare students to become successful contractors and project leaders,” College of Engineering and Science Dean Hisham Hegab said. “We’re grateful to the Contractor’s Licensing Board, the Contractors Education Trust Fund, and the many professionals throughout Louisiana who voluntarily pay these fees every year. Their generosity has a direct impact on our students, allowing the Construction Engineering Technology program to incorporate field trips, conferences, and the latest equipment into the curriculum.”
The donations to the Construction Engineering Technology program will be used in a variety of ways that will help provide innovative education to students. Funds will be used for student activities, conference trips, lab and surveying equipment, lab renovations and upgrades and faculty support.
Louisiana Tech’s Construction Engineering Technology program provides students with a background in math, science, engineering, construction and business to prepare graduates for leadership positions in the construction industry. The program prepares graduates for the responsibility of managing and supervising activities related to converting the plans and specifications prepared by engineers and architects into finished facilities.
