Louisiana Tech University’s College of Business is now accepting applications for a newly developed Master of Business Administration (MBA) concentration in Business Data Analytics. The 36-hour program will be offered as part of the Traditional MBA, with courses taking place in-person.
“The addition of a Business Data Analytics concentration is one more way we are working to adapt curriculum to the needs of industry partners and an ever-changing workforce,” said Dr. Chris Martin, dean of the College of Business. “These graduates will be prepared for managerial positions in data-intensive industries where ‘big data’ and statistical analyses drive executive decision making. Levering technology in business to the fullest is a cornerstone of our College, and this is another way to bolster that area.”
The concentration offers students a distinctive MBA experience by combining general cross-disciplinary knowledge of the core MBA program with courses that provide in-depth quantitative analysis and data visualization methodologies.
Four analytics-focused courses in computer information systems, accounting, finance, and economics will allow students to master the skills required to understand, extract, and model business data, make better decisions, and create unique value to employers.
This rigorous training in business analytics and data science will equip students for careers in industries that are transforming their competitive advantage through data driven decision-making.
In addition to Business Data Analytics, five other concentrations are offered as part of the Traditional MBA program:
- Finance
- Information Assurance
- Entrepreneurship and Innovation
- Marketing
- Six Sigma
