154 students were enrolled for 9th grade in Jackson Parish schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 154 ninth grade students enrolled in Jackson Parish schools in the 2021-22 school year, 9.4% less than the previous year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

Jonesboro-Hodge High School welcomed the most ninth grade students in the parish.

Within Jackson Parish schools, the most students were found in eighth grade classes, while 12th grade classes were the smallest.

Statewide, Jackson Parish ranked 14th lowest in enrollment numbers, the same as the year before.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students, compared to the national average of 1:16.
