The Louisiana Tech women’s bowling team, ranked fifth in the nation, will travel to Lincoln, Nebraska this weekend for the Big Red Invite. The tournament is set to take place at Hollywood Bowl from February 20 to 22 and is hosted by Nebraska.
Twelve teams are participating in the event, with ten of them holding national rankings. Eight of those teams are currently listed in the top ten. Teams scheduled to compete include No. 1 Jax State, No. 2 Vanderbilt, No. 3 Arkansas State, No. 4 Wichita State, No. 5 LA Tech, No. 6 Nebraska, No. 7 Maryville, No. 8 Youngstown State, as well as McKendree (No. 13), Sam Houston (No. 14), Quincy and Western Illinois.
The tournament will open on Friday with five baker matches starting at 9 a.m., where LA Tech will face Maryville, Wichita State, Vanderbilt, Youngstown State and Sam Houston consecutively.
On Saturday at 10 a.m., LA Tech will participate in five traditional matches against Arkansas State, Western Illinois, Jax State, Nebraska and McKendree.
Sunday’s schedule includes one traditional match against Quincy followed by two best four-of-seven baker matches.

Louisiana Tech enters this event with a season record of 54 wins and 24 losses. Their most recent NCAA appearance was at the Columbia 300 Saints Invite from January 30 to February 1 where they finished sixth overall. More recently on February 7-8 in Oklahoma City at the SWIBC Championship, Louisiana Tech secured first place with a total pinfall of nearly seven thousand.
