Louisiana Tech softball will face Sam Houston in a three-game Conference USA series at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field starting Friday, April 17. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.

The matchup holds significance as both teams are vying for position within the conference standings. Louisiana Tech leads the all-time series against Sam Houston, 21-15, but dropped two of three games in last year’s meeting.

Louisiana Tech enters the weekend with a record of 22-21 overall and an 8-10 mark in Conference USA play after losing two out of three to FIU at home last weekend. The Bulldogs outhit FIU during that series and saw standout performances from Allie Furr and Gracie Flores, who each tallied five hits over the three games. Reagan Marchant led with six runs batted in, all coming from solo home runs across Saturday and Sunday.

Furr currently leads Louisiana Tech with 52 hits this season, followed closely by Elena Heng with 50. Marchant is the first Bulldog to surpass forty RBIs this year, leading the team with forty-one. Freshman Bradi Gallaway has contributed thirty-eight RBIs and hit her tenth home run of the season against FIU—tying for most by a freshman in program history.

Pitcher Laney Johnson improved her record to six wins after earning a victory against FIU on Saturday; Bryannah Campos recorded her second save of the season during that game. Johnson is second on the team for wins and innings pitched behind Allie Floyd, who leads with nine wins and ninety strikeouts.

Sam Houston arrives with a record of twenty-seven wins and nineteen losses (11-7 CUSA), having secured several conference series victories but suffering their only sweep at Western Kentucky University. Sophia Lundstrom leads Sam Houston offensively while Veronica Harrison tops their home run tally—her fifteen homers tie her for first place in Conference USA alongside Marchant from Louisiana Tech.
