Louisiana Tech softball lost 11-9 to Middle Tennessee on April 4 in the series finale at Blue Raider Softball Field. The Bulldogs recorded nine runs on twelve hits but could not overcome the Blue Raiders, who finished with eleven runs and five home runs. Louisiana Tech now stands at a record of 21-18 overall and 7-8 in Conference USA.

The game was marked by strong offensive performances from both teams. Louisiana Tech outhit Middle Tennessee, with three of their hits resulting in home runs. Allie Furr led the Bulldogs with three hits, while Bradi Gallaway contributed two hits and drove in four runs on a grand slam. Rosalie Dufresne added a two-run home run, and Reagan Marchant hit a solo homer.

Pitching changes were frequent for Louisiana Tech throughout the game. Allie Floyd took the loss after entering in the sixth inning with her team leading by one run but allowing three runs on three hits. Bryannah Campos started for the Bulldogs but lasted only one inning, giving up three runs on three hits.

Middle Tennessee established an early lead before Louisiana Tech responded with an eight-run fifth inning to take a temporary advantage at 9-8. However, Middle Tennessee regained control with three more runs in the sixth and held off any further scoring attempts by Louisiana Tech.

Head coach Josh Taylor said after the game: “I was very pleased with our offense all weekend. We started to settle into quality at bats and saw some great things. The bottom-line today was we did not pitch well at all. There were a lot of good things that are positive moving forward. I am excited about this final stretch of the season and look forward to seeing how we continue to compete.” Taylor’s record as head coach is now 156 wins and 109 losses.

The Bulldogs will next play against ULM on Wednesday evening.
