Louisiana Tech softball achieved its highest single-game hit total in six years with a 13-3 victory over Middle Tennessee on April 3 at the Blue Raider Softball Field. The Bulldogs improved their record to 21-17 overall and an even 7-7 in Conference USA play.
The game was notable as all nine players in LA Tech’s starting lineup recorded at least one hit, contributing to a total of six extra-base hits. Bradi Gallaway led the team with three hits, while Elena Heng, Gracie Flores, Reagan Marchant, and Rosalie Dufresne each added two. Gallaway and Reese Torres drove in three runs apiece, with Heng adding two more RBI. Allie Floyd pitched her ninth complete game of the season for LA Tech, allowing three runs on seven hits.
“Very pleased with every aspect of our game today. Two out hitting and hitting with runners in scoring position was fantastic. We were able to keep pressure applied for the entire game and Allie Floyd was gritty. That was a performance our offense needed. It was very nice to give Allie that run support and let her go out there and do what she does,” head coach Josh Taylor said after the game.
The Bulldogs’ offensive output included going 13-for-19 with two outs and finishing 9-for-14 with runners in scoring position. Gallaway extended her on-base streak to eighteen games while Furr reached an eight-game hitting streak.
This win moves Taylor’s career record at LA Tech to 156-108, while also extending LA Tech’s lead over MTSU in their all-time series to 18 wins against twelve losses. The team’s fifteen-hit mark is its highest since March 6, 2020.
LA Tech will conclude its series against Middle Tennessee tomorrow at noon; the contest will be available via ESPN+.
