The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs men’s baseball team will travel to Natchitoches to play the Northwestern State Demons on April 7, with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. at Brown-Stroud Field.

This matchup is significant as both teams are seeking to continue their recent winning momentum. The Bulldogs are aiming for a three-game winning streak, while the Demons currently hold the longest active win streak in their conference.

According to information released by LA Tech Athletics, this game marks the first time since March 2024 that LA Tech will play at Northwestern State’s home field. In that previous contest, the Demons won 11-5 before being swept by LA Tech later in Ruston. The last victory for the Bulldogs in Natchitoches was on May 4, 2022.

Key players for LA Tech include Eli Berch and Colton Coates, who are among ten players batting over .400 in league games and rank high in on-base percentage within Conference USA play. Trey Hawsey has recorded a .654 slugging percentage, placing him ninth-best in CUSA games, while Colby Lunsford is among conference leaders with five home runs and seventeen runs batted in during league competition.

For Northwestern State, Thomas Marsala III leads his team with a .336 batting average and has scored twenty-nine runs along with eight home runs this season. Brooks Leonard is noted as one of the top baserunners in the Southland Conference with thirteen stolen bases and forty-four hits so far this year.

Looking ahead, both teams hope this game will help build momentum as they continue through their respective conference schedules.
