The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs men’s baseball team will play a three-game series against the Florida International University Panthers beginning April 2 at FIU Baseball Stadium in Miami.
The matchup is important for both teams as the Bulldogs aim to break a seven-game losing streak, while the Panthers look to improve their standing in Conference USA. LA Tech currently holds a record of 15-15 overall and 4-5 in conference play, while FIU stands at 9-20 overall and 1-8 in conference games.
According to information provided by LA Tech Athletics, the Bulldogs have not played at FIU since 2024, which was also the last time FIU won a series over them. In their most recent meetings, LA Tech took two games from FIU in 2025 before weather delays led to cancellation of the final game. Historically, LA Tech leads the all-time series with a record of 24 wins and 20 losses but has an away record of only eight wins out of twenty games played at Miami. The last time LA Tech won a weekend series on FIU’s home field was in 2019.
FIU enters this weekend’s contest at the bottom of the Conference USA standings with just one win from nine league games so far this season. Their only conference victory came after overcoming a four-run deficit against Sam Houston on March 21 with a walk-off grand slam. The Panthers recently ended a four-game losing streak by defeating Florida Atlantic with a score of nine to one.
