Grambling, La. – March 24, 2023 – Grambling State University engineering graduate Ken Lear will serve as keynote speaker during Honors Day Convocation on Thursday, April 13 at 1 p.m. inside the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.

As Vice President for Real Estate for AT&T, Lear oversees a large corporate portfolio consisting of more than 50,000 owned and leased assets totaling 220 million square feet.

In his role for AT&T, Lear leads a team of real estate and environment, health, and safety professionals responsible for strategic portfolio management; workplace design; missions critical infrastructure design; construction management; facilities repair and maintenance; building support services and systems; and corporate environmental and occupational safety compliance programs.

Since joining AT&T in 1992, Lear has held various leadership positions within the Corporate Real Estate organization. He has been particularly instrumental in leading reorganizations and merger integration initiatives to optimize organizational structures and drive synergies.

Prior to joining AT&T, Lear worked for a civil engineering firm in California where he performed civil design.

Lear earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology from Grambling State University and an MBA from Saint Mary’s College in California.

Lear has a long history of volunteering with youth mentoring programs. He currently sits on the Associate Board of Directors for Children’s Health and volunteers with Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).

Outside of work and volunteer activities, Lear enjoys woodworking, playing the guitar, cooking, and doing anything outdoors. He and his wife live in Dallas, and they have two adult children.
