The Bulldogs’ women’s track team secured a commanding victory in the 4×400 meter relay at the Pepsi Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla., on April 5. Osaretin Usenbor, Jamara Patterson, Tyhra Charles and Nia Wiley finished with a time of 3:30.13, outpacing their closest competitors by more than three seconds.

This performance marks the second fastest outdoor time in program history for Louisiana Tech and is currently ranked as the sixth fastest time among Division I teams this outdoor season.

In addition to her relay success, Jamara Patterson achieved third place in the solo 400 meter event with a time of 51.74 seconds. This result stands as the second fastest outdoor mark ever recorded by an athlete from Louisiana Tech and gives Patterson four of the five best times in school history for this event. She now holds both the tenth and thirteenth fastest times nationally among all Division I athletes.

The strong results highlight ongoing progress within Louisiana Tech’s track program during this season’s outdoor competitions.

Looking ahead, fans are encouraged to support LA Tech Athletics through various programs designed to provide resources for student-athletes.
