A’reil Williams placed third in the high jump on May 16 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, as three more Bulldogs advanced to finals. Williams cleared 1.70 meters for the fourth time this outdoor season, earning a bronze medal in the event. The junior also made the podium during both Conference USA Championships this year and previously won gold in the indoor competition.
The results highlight continued strong performances by Louisiana Tech athletes during championship season. Advancing to finals is an important step for student-athletes seeking further individual and team success.
Cullen Hronek qualified for the final round of the 400-meter hurdles after running a personal best of 53.51 seconds, which was sixth fastest among competitors. He will compete again in the finals tomorrow night.
In sprint events, Tyrica Sterrett and Jaitlyn Ware will both represent Louisiana Tech in the 200-meter final scheduled for tomorrow. Ware secured her spot by winning her heat with a time of 24.20 seconds, while Sterrett posted a mark of 23.88 seconds—the sixth fastest overall—and will also compete in the women’s 100 meters tomorrow afternoon.
